HonZons

Many Clubs recognise the significant assistance given to them by partners and friends through recognition as an HonZon.  This is purely honorary and an option of the Club.  In most instances the HonZon is recognised by presentation of a certificate of appreciation and presentation of a small lapel badge available from District 22 at a cost of $10 each plus postage.  Refer to the Zonta Shop for more details.  HonZons generally receive Club newsletters and information on upcoming events but do not attend meetings  or have any voting privileges.

As an alternative to HonZons some Clubs prefer to have supporters of the Club recognised as “Friends of Zonta”.  As with HonZons friends of Zonta generally receive newsletters and information on upcoming events but do not attend meetings or have any voting privileges.

Honorary Zontians

Honorary Zontian status may be granted at Zonta International level.  Honorary Zontians at the international level are determined by the ZI Board and details published on the ZI website.

At Club level the Club, depending on the Club constitution, may determine to award Honorary Zontian status to an individual who has distinguished themself by some unusual service other than service to Zonta.  The Club should nominate the time frame of the honorary membership and is required to pay both Zonta International and District fees for anyone so recognised. The Honorary Zontian is exempt from holding an elective office at the Club level but may attend meetings.
