35 Year Celebrations

Last night Club members and HonZons celebrated 35 years since our Club Charter on 13 March 1989. Many thanks to all who attended including our District Governor, Lyn Agnew and Area 3 Director, Michelle Turner. We also welcomed our Local Councillor, Lucy Collier and received a lovely letter of congratulations from the Hon Di Farmer, Member for Bulimba, Minister for Education and Minister for Youth Justice who was unable to attend. We have two Charter Members Beverley and Denise. Denise was an apology so our celebration cake was cut by Charter member Beverley and our youngest member Sophie.

Each member and guest, as well as enjoying a piece of our cake, took home a special cupcake (made by Stella) and a tote bag promoting the Club as a memento of the occasion.

Thank you to the Committee who organised the evening – it was a great night.

District 22 CONFERENCE 2023 -Update

The District 22 Conference 2023 is successfully concluded. From the warm welcome to Mackay by Mayor Williamson and Aunty Pat Corrie to the final business closure on Sunday 10 September, delegates and guests enjoyed the guest speakers, the several presentations by our education award winners, our Zonta International Representative Annika from Sweden and the Zonta spirit generated by many Zontians being and working together for the future of District 22. Congratulations to the newly elected Board Members and Nominating Committee, as well as to the many first-time Conference delegates who participated in the business sessions. Thanks also to the Zontians of Mackay who hosted the event and to the Organising Committee for their months of planning to deliver a happy and productive District Conference. The District Conference 2025 will be held in Mount Isa. In the meantime the 2024 Zonta International Convention in Brisbane will be the next major event to which we look forward.
