Zonta Warwick’s STEM award
Today Zonta Warwick presented its first STEM award. The award was presented at the Ag Science Expo held at the Hermitage Research Station at Warwick.
Schools from a wide area around Warwick and beyond are encouraged enter this annual event which is held to encourage school pupils to enter into the field of Ag Science.
Crystal Wieck (year 9) of Oakey State High was the winner of the award. She received a Certificate, a Book, and her entry to a Science Experience paid for to the value of $220.
President Colleen presented the award which was also attended by Club members Hilary, Jenny and Jenny.
The committee felt that giving the award to a year 9 encourages the recipient to keep following her Science dream.

Guest speaker for the day was Dr. Kit Prendergast whose field of study is the bee.
