Welcome to Zonta Gold Coast Inc.

Advancing a Better World for Women and Girls

At Zonta Gold Coast Inc. (formerly Zonta Club of Paradise Point), we are part of a global community of advocates united by a shared purpose: to build a world where women and girls live with equality, dignity, and opportunity.

Grounded in the values of friendship, inclusion, respect, and integrity, our club brings together passionate individuals who believe in the power of connection and collective action to create meaningful, lasting change—locally and globally.

We proudly serve the vibrant Gold Coast community on the traditional lands of the Yugambeh language peoples, including the Kombumerri, Mununjali, Wangerriburra, and Bullongin peoples. As we enter a new chapter in 2026 as Zonta Gold Coast Inc., our name reflects our growing reach—from Pimpama and Coomera through to Coolangatta and across to the Scenic Rim—and our deep commitment to inclusive community impact.

Founded in 1997, our club is part of Zonta International’s worldwide network, working together to:

  • Advance gender equality
  • End violence against women and girls
  • Expand education, leadership, and economic opportunities

Through advocacy, service, and fundraising initiatives, we act with integrity and purpose, ensuring our efforts contribute to a more just and equitable future.

A Community Connected by Purpose and Friendship

Zonta Gold Coast is more than a club—it is a place of genuine connection, collaboration, and shared commitment. We foster a welcoming and inclusive environment where members build lasting friendships while contributing their skills, energy, and voice to causes that matter.

Whether through community events, advocacy initiatives, or partnership projects, we stand together supporting one another while amplifying the voices of women and girls.

Creating Change Through Service and Advocacy

At Zonta Gold Coast Inc., our work is grounded in action. Through service and advocacy, we empower women and girls, strengthen our community, and contribute to global change.

Service in Action

Supporting, Empowering, and Investing in Women and Girls

We deliver practical initiatives that create opportunity, build confidence, and support those who need it most.

Fundraising Through the Arts

Creativity with Purpose. Advocacy with Impact.

The arts play a powerful role in both raising awareness and inspiring action within our community.

In 2024, our partnership with Spotlight Theatre Company for Dogfight sparked more than conversation—it inspired our members to stage a silent protest, featuring placards that powerfully communicated the work and mission of Zonta. This creative expression invited reflection, raised awareness, and engaged audiences in a meaningful and memorable way.

Building on this momentum, our 2025 production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat brought colour, energy, and purpose together. During the event, club members highlighted the eight forms of domestic violence through an interactive display, inviting members to place vibrant sashes on our symbolic “Orange Ladies.” This engaging experience encouraged deeper understanding and meaningful dialogue around the complexities of gender-based violence.

Through these initiatives, we continue to demonstrate how creativity, storytelling, and community engagement can amplify advocacy and inspire change.

Z Clubs: Youth Leadership

Inspiring the Next Generation of Changemakers

At Zonta Gold Coast Inc., empowering young people is central to our mission. Beyond awards and recognition, we are proud to be building meaningful, lasting connections with secondary schools across the Gold Coast.

Through these partnerships, we have successfully supported the establishment of two Z Clubs:

  • Z Club Queensland Academy of Health Sciences
  • Z Club Helensvale State High School

With strong momentum and growing interest, we are excited by the prospect of establishing two additional Z Clubs by mid-year.

This is a significant milestone for our club—reflecting our commitment to fostering a global community of young leaders who are passionate about equality, inclusion, and positive social change. It is both inspiring and energising to see young women and men stepping forward to engage with Zonta’s mission and values through Z Club membership.

Why Z Clubs Matter in Schools Today

Z Clubs provide a powerful platform for students to:

  • Develop leadership skills through real-world service and advocacy projects
  • Build confidence and voice in speaking about important social issues
  • Engage in meaningful community service with tangible impact
  • Connect to a global network focused on gender equality and human rights
  • Foster respectful relationships and inclusive values within school communities
  • Be inspired to take action, not just awareness, on issues that matter

Z Clubs are more than school groups—they are the beginning of lifelong leadership, service, and global citizenship.

Zonta Young Women in Leadership Award

The 2025 Zonta Paradise Point Young Women in Leadership Award recipient was Sophie Eurell. Sophie is an articulate, thoughtful and passionate young woman with a strong commitment to leadership, volunteerism and advocacy. Her responses during the award interview highlighted her deep awareness of systemic barriers Indigenous women face and her desire to create change, particularly in law, policy, and gender equality.

Sophie’s achievements include Vice Captain, Indigenous School Leader, Valedictorian, Student of the Year, and Indigenous Student of the Year. She led an Indigenous youth group at Keebra Park State High School, creating safe spaces, empowering young girls and ensuring sustainable leadership beyond her participation. Sophie is also enrolled in a Criminology degree at Griffith University, aiming to address systemic inequalities through law and policy.

Her advocacy extends beyond school, including work with UQ Indigenous Department on the Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), with a focus on Indigenous women affected by domestic violence. Sophie demonstrates resilience, compassion, courage, and a commitment to practical action and immediate impact in empowering others.

Zonta Young Women – Future Change Maker Award

The Zonta Young Women – Future Change Maker Award is a Club-based initiative presented to five young women across five local secondary colleges.

The award is presented to a female student in Year 10, 11 or 12 who: – Demonstrates leadership in promoting gender equity, respect or inclusion within the school or wider community – Actively participates in community service, social justice or advocacy projects that contribute to the safety and empowerment of others – Embodies the values of compassion, courage and resilience – Encourages others through positive peer influence and acts as a role model for younger students – Shows initiative in addressing issues affecting women and girls through school activities, volunteering or personal action

This award affirms Zonta’s belief in the power of young women to lead change and shape a more just and equitable future.

Service Projects

Breast Cushion Assembly

Members create and distribute specialised breast care cushions for individuals recovering from mastectomy or breast surgery. These cushions provide comfort, gentle support and practical relief during the recovery process, improving quality of life for breast cancer patients.

Birthing Kit Assembly – Empowering Young Leaders

The Zonta Club of Paradise Point proudly supported large-scale Birthing Kit assemblies led by secondary school students, strengthening our commitment to global maternal health while empowering young people through service.

In 2025, club members supported students at Benowa State High School to assemble 200 birthing kits, with the day facilitated by our 2024 Zonta Club of Paradise Point Senior Student Bursary recipient, Rahaf Afif. Rahaf’s leadership provided a powerful example of youth advocacy and service in action.

The Club also assisted students at Merrimac State High School, who assembled a further 200 birthing kits, contributing to safer childbirth outcomes for women and babies in developing countries.

These collaborative service days highlighted the impact of education, leadership and collective action in addressing global inequities affecting women and girls.
