Brisbane Metro Breakfast Trash & Treasure Sale

About Us

We are a Brisbane northern-suburbs based Zonta Club with a dynamic cross-section  of passionate and focussed women, committed to the service and advocacy goals of Zonta International.  Our members bring diverse talents, coming from a wide range of professions including education, human resources, accountancy, law, engineering, consulting and more.

Our signature ‘Sunrise’ breakfast meetings  are unique as breakfast is provided free by ‘White Lady” as they give back in community service.  This reflects our ‘small but mighty’ approach with highly personalised, wide connections within local communities and beyond!

Fellowship, great purpose and strong spirit are the glue that binds our Sunrise members and wide team of supporters! If this is for you, come and add your voice to our service and advocacy!.

Advocacy
Zonta Sunrise launched their ‘Orange Ladies” early at the Melbourne Cup fundraiser at the Gibson Sports Club in 2025 – a new central community based advocate! Bright advocacy displays are also at our local Stafford Shopping Centre ad at the Chermside Library.

Marchant Ward Councillor Danita Parry engages with Sunrise at the Chermside Library and joins us for the ‘Walk to End Violence Against Women and Girls’ from King George Square to the Southbank and back – part of our local and international ’16 Days of Activism’ from 25 November to 10 December where we paint the town orange.  Sunrise has stepped out an updated walk route which includes the new Neville Bonner Bridge which will be lit up orange for the entire city to see!

Sunrise and the Mitchelton Dream Team collaborate to mark the International Day of the Girl Child with the delivery of Personal are Packs, made by the Dream Team, to the Sexual Assault Unit at Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital – an outward facing dedicated action across our club, the school and the hospital,  The Dream Team as future leaders, are also engaging in an innovative “Think Tank” around “What is helping young people in your community? What is hindering them? What is one thing we can do?”

We acknowledge that 2025 is the 10th anniversary of our advocacy walk, and this was purposefully initiated by Zonta Sunrise in 2015! So do join us on this momentous walk with Zontians, supporters and dignitaries as we make a stance and ‘paint the town orange’!
